HIGHLANDER THE SERIES MacLeod's Metal Katana Hilt from Season One (102-TV334)
This metal katana hilt was acquired by the production for use in 'Highlander: The Series' (1992-1998).
Duncan MacLeod's katana hilt (Tsuka) from season one and art of season 2. This piece has survived many memorable sword fights on the show. The hilt is constructed from sold cast metal with mounting holes for the blade installed. The sword hilt from season one was an original design for the series that was later changed during season 2.
The swords used for fighting scenes on the series used exchangeable metal blades, for this reason a hilt design able to be quickly changed out was necessary. This design later evolved into the two part system that is seen on the season 2 hilts.
An extremely rare and important example of MacLeod's sword from the beginning of the series.
